What is Jute, and why should we be making bags with it?

Jute is one of our strongest natural fibres. It is a rain fed crop with little or no need for pesticides of fertiliser. It has a long lifecycle as a reusable bag, and once it’s no longer suitable to this use, it is completely biodegradable.

It’s also known as Hession and it can be used in many forms as sacking, winebags, reusable shopping bags and trendy carriers.

One of stronghold’s other prominent Jute customers is Schuh, who have a range of limited edition carriers.
